History Movie Night

On Thursday 23 March, the High School History department hosted a movie night for the students. The movie, I Am Here, tells the story of Ella Blumenthal, a Holocaust survivor who currently resides in Cape Town. The students were moved by Ella's story and how she (now 101 years old) is able to appreciate her life, living with joy and forgiveness. The movie night ended with an energetic and enlightening Q&A session with the director and producer of the film. They provided insights about the filmmaking process and working with Ella. The evening was a special experience valued by all; particularly the grade 8s who have been learning about the Holocaust this term.
