Mandela Day 2022

Brescia House School once again encouraged their entire community to support the 67 Minutes for Mandela Day by using their unique skills and talents to create something for others. An amazing array of hand-produced items were created ranging from knitted and crocheted toys, blankets, beanies and jerseys, to unique "one of a kind" children's story books and other educational items for Early Childhood Development centres. The Grade Rs were particularly proud of their booklets about different mathematical shapes. These booklets will be donated to the children of Witkoppen School.

Pupils, staff, alumnae, parents and extended family members all joined in the spirit of the event, helping to create a few yarn-bombed "cameos" to add to the fun of the day. The Brescia House School "Gift of love and time tree" also took centre stage as the school could once again have it on show (it is also on display at the Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital during December each year).
